ah, sorry for the drop in quality? Or size? or for making more bishonen...

Anyways, original JB art! woot! He's my character, you can't touch him! No I lie, he's not completely original. (but you still cant' claim him!)

Rurouni Kenshin, Peacemaker, Shinsengumi or specifically Saitou fans should recognize Tsutomu's name and understand the 'wolf' reference. For the rest who have no idea what I'm talking about, Tsutomu Fujita is the eldest son of Goro Fujita, aka Hajime Saitou, Third Captain of The Shinsengumi, (Wolfs of Mibu to their enemies, hence where the 'wolf' in the title comes from).

Both people actually existed and lived in 19th century Japan. Saitou was one of few survivors of the badass but tragically cool shinsengumi group that died during the Bakumatsu (the war that ended the edo period and samurai era and began Japan's modernization) Any of you seen the movie with Tom Cruise called The Last Samurai? Tsutomu was born in that period.

Of course I had to take some artistic license with Tsutomu and turn him into an anime bishonen. :XD: (He did not look like this in real life, sorry to disappoint you ladies). ^^;

Hopefully Tsutomu-san's ghost won't mind my doing this to his character (please no haunting me Tsutomu-san! It's not my fault you were the son of a famous swordsman!) Besides, its rather tame considering the stuff that's been done in doujinshis with Saitou...~~; (that poor man would be rolling in his grave if he had one...*has no idea if he does...*)

Anyways, my Tsutomu Fujita is a character for the doujinshi Kone and I are writing up. tee hee hee, I tried mixing Watsuki-sama (Rurouni Kenshin)'s version of Saitou with Kone's image of a wild pretty boy. Somehow this came out. He should have had black hair, but for some reason, I kept picturing warm colors and this came out in the end. I might change his colors later on, but don't worry his eyes shall remain golden yellow like his daddy's. :XD:

For more info on his character and JB and Kone's wacky dealings with regards to the doujinshi, click here for the lineart and description.

This was drawn on Open Canvas, but colored on Photoshop. I had abandoned this picture three months ago but I got inspired after AX and decided to finish it. The background as usual was giving me trouble, until I saw an album cover that gave me an idea of what lighting or coloring to do it. Then I found a photo of an engawa on the internet (wonderful photos, btw) and I had to have him there. Problem was there's glass doors and I was at my wits end on how to make it look LESS realistic. So after much editing and using of filters, I accidently modified a layer where I had placed brown and green/yellow shadows for the picture and got THIS result. A crazy sunlit golden afternoon. :XD: Man! I had always wanted to learn to do this GLOWING effect on my backgrounds but never knew how to. Now I know! Yay for experimenting.

I know the lighting makes no sense. But I don't care. :XD:

I could've shaded his face well enough, but this is supposed to be a character portrait more than anything so I wanted people to get a good idea of how his face is supposed to look when he's at peace. (btw, he rarely looks this amicable, he tends to be moody or scary looking. :XD: )

Enjoy folks!

Tsutomu Fujita belongs to himself and his descendants,

This look/style however is 90% all mine. :XD: The other ten percent belongs to Watsuki-sama who made the funnest, manliest Saitou Hajime ever. :XD:
