Yes, I am disturbed. But I couldn't help but draw these two in chibi form. It was just begging to be drawn that way.

Tis semi-based on a scene in episode 5. waii, Vincent is such a lap dog. He lets himself get pushed around (or pulled around in this case) by Re-l so much.

oh yes, I attended the Geneon ergo proxy panel this monday at AX and they spelt her name as Re-l in the subtitles, and they pronounced it as Re-al (as in The Real Hotel?). Same idea. Volume One of the anime shall be released in the US in November of 2006 I can't remember if it's the 24 or the 26th...Anyhoo, Woot for RE-L and VINCE!

I'm a bit tickled by who they chose as voice actors though, least the few that I remember...

Vincent shall be voiced by Liam O'Brien who does Gaara's voice in Naruto.
Effeminate young Dr. Daedalus shall be voiced by Yuri Lowenthall who does Sasuke's voice in Naruto.
Iggy the android who talks like a drag queen shall be voiced by JB Blanc who's french/british and does British accents in anime.
Pino-chan shall be voiced by the girl who does Anita in ROD: the TV series. hm, that girl's 14 years old now, I hope they don't make Pino annoying...

and I'm not sure but I think they said Carrie Savage will do Re=L's voice? hm, can't remember, they just mentioned someone who's worked on Texcnolize(sp?) anime. hm...Well, don't take my word for it, I can't remember. Someone did write it down at the panel, I just gotta find that person online now... I can't remember who they picked for Raul's voice actor either...

waah, but it's a non-union anime, so they couldn't hire Crispin Freeman to do voices. The only way he'd work on there is for free...TT; But what's cool is when I talked with the dub director Johnathan Kline after the panel, he said that Crispin had actually come up to him asking about Ergo Proxy. (they worked together before on the Hellsing dub). waah, so Crispin was interested! ;o; Mr. Kline said that Crispin would've made an awesome Vincent Law or Raul, but unless he does guest work, it won't work out. Well, I told him to keep trying, and to check out if Crispin can do Kazkis's voice. Duuude, he'd make a fabulous Kazkis. Hell I can see Crispin doing Iggy. LOL...but I'm so happy that Crispin tried to find out about ergo proxy, (waii, he read my message afterall!) Yay!

I'm telling you folks, it's a great show! Give it a try. Don't let the first two episodes confuse you.


Okay! So back to the picture! This is my first time in forever, doing chibis. I might have attempted them many many years ago and cant' remember now, but I had a little trouble drawing them. They still look funny to me. Drawing chibi heels is hard too. XD and Vincent's outfit is so weird! It's the uniform immigrants wear in the show. The ones that chase after cogito-virus infected autorieves (androids)? It looks like he's got a diaper/bodysuit over shorts that are over pants. Must be a pain to dress in this. If Re-l wasn't so darn cool, I'd say EP's character designer was high. Where in the world did he get his inspiration for that uniform??

If this vincent looks a bit different from the way I drew him in the last picture, that's cuz this is his first look. The one a reviewer lovingly dubbed his "gerbil" look. But she/he's right! He does look like a gerbil with his eyes closed and his hair polished back like this. His forehead is huge too. Which is why I like his rugged/roughed up opened eyes look better. But he can be cute this way too...just that he looks completely different. Reminds me of Soujirou from RK, a creepy closed eye smiley face.

But I still love Vincent! He's just so hopeless. XD and Re-l is just so bitchy to him. But she's cool too. She's wears the pants in the relationship that's all. Don't hold it against her. Vince doesn't mind it at all!
