First picture of the year 2009, yay!

and first American comic books Superheroine fanart too. Finally in theme with the season.

Presenting...Miss Tora Olafsdotter, the princess of an isolated tribe of magic-wielding Norsemen in the DC comics universe. AKA Ice. (she was once part of the Justice League or some variation of it)

As if it weren't obvious, she has the ability to manipulate and create snow and ice.

Ironically, she's the sweetest, warmest superheroine in the DCU. A real sweet girl next-door type. And ironically, her boyfriend's the biggest cockiest, overbearing obnoxious oaf in the DCU (Guy Gardner, one of four Green Lanterns). But he loves her dearly. It's so darn cute to read them together. XD Squee. It's like seeing an americanized superhero version of Fruits Basket's Kyo and Tohru...minus the curse/family issues. XD;;

Anyhoo, I drew her earlier past year, but just recently decided to give her a background so I could submit her here. It was fun coloring her.

I gotta say...kinda tough at the same time. I was going for a more realistic "American comic books" style. Didn't quite get there. I've edited her pic a couple of times since I first drew her. Even now I see tons of mistakes. But it was a learning experience. *shakes fist at anatomy*

That iceberg...was hard. I used for reference an Iceberg photo I found on DA...problem is I can't find it anymore. O_o; Don't know if I like it here. Oh well. It too was a learning experience too.

Ya know... I tried to not make it cheesecake art, but somehow...it still turned out so. Weird.

Oh well, but yay! it's out of the way and now I can move on to my other projects. XD;;

Despite the fact she has ice powers, it is ironic that she's so sweet and warm.
As much of a jerk Guy is, he tries so hard to be the man she wants him to be, and she accepts that.
